Glycolic has the smallest molecule of the alpha hydroxy acids, so it goes deepest and it is the least forgiving of the four kits here. That is the whole reason to choose it and the whole reason to earn it first. If you have not completed a Level 1 peel without incident, do that before you buy this one.

Key actives
| Active | What it does | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Glycolic acid | The smallest alpha hydroxy acid molecule, so it travels furthest into the surface layers. | Small molecule, deeper action, stronger result and less margin for error. That is the Level 2 trade. |
| Retinol | A vitamin A derivative used to help refine the look of the skin's surface. | Running retinol alongside glycolic in one session is what makes this a resurfacing treatment rather than an exfoliation. |
| Superfruit antioxidant complex with niacinamide | Fruit-derived antioxidants with niacinamide, to support skin through and after the treatment. | Skin is more exposed straight after a peel. The antioxidant side of the kit is not decoration. |

Common questions
You have completed a Level 1 kit, you shed normally, and your skin was back to itself within a week. If a Level 1 peel left you red for days or stinging, you are not ready and glycolic will not be kinder. If you have sensitive skin, Glo does not recommend Level 2 at all.
Molecule size. Glycolic is the smallest of the alpha hydroxy acids, so it passes into the skin further and faster. That gives a stronger result on texture and pores, and it gives less room to get the timing wrong. Follow the printed times exactly.
No exercise for 24 to 48 hours, and no heat, steam or sauna in that window. No waxing or depilatories for seven days. Sunscreen at SPF 30 or above for at least 14 days, and no scrubbing or picking at whatever is shedding.
Leave four weeks either side of anything we do. Tell us at your appointment if you have peeled at home recently, because it changes what is safe to do on the day.
