Brows

Brows frame everything else, which is why a heavy hand there is more noticeable than anywhere on the face. The aim is to fill the gaps and hold the shape, not to draw a new brow on top of the one you have. Four products cover it, and most people need two of them.

Brows

Precise Micro Browliner draws fine, hair-like strokes and is the one for filling actual gaps. Brow Powder Duo and Brow Quad are softer and better for building overall shape, with more than one shade so you can adjust as your hair changes. Brow Gel holds everything where you put it, and is enough on its own if your brows are full and need nothing more than shaping.

Where to start

Gel, if your brows are full. Liner, if you have gaps to fill. Powder if you want to soften and shape. Very few people need all three.

Glo Skin Beauty brow products, curated by the clinicians at The London Road Clinic in Newark, Nottinghamshire, cover liner, powder and gel in mineral formulas, with shades that let you match your brows to your hair rather than to a chart.

Good to know

Frequently asked

Should brows match my hair colour?

Roughly, but a shade cooler and slightly lighter than your hair usually looks more natural, particularly if your hair is coloured. Going darker is the most common way brows start to look drawn on.

Pencil or powder?

Pencil for gaps, powder for shape. A fine liner mimics individual hairs, which is what you want where the brow is sparse. Powder blurs and builds, which suits filling out a shape that is already there.

Will brow makeup stay put through the day?

Gel over the top is what makes the difference, particularly on brows that are unruly or in warm weather. Without it, powder in particular tends to fade by the afternoon.
