Most people with breakouts are already using something exfoliating, and adding a second acid at night is how skin gets stripped and angry. This is the opposite approach. It supports the barrier overnight and leaves the acid work to the daytime product. Where I use it is on skin that has been over-treated and is breaking out because of it.

Key actives
| Active | What it does | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Bio-fermented complex | Vegan fermented actives used to support the skin's own microbial balance and its barrier. | A disrupted barrier and disrupted surface flora both show up as breakouts. This works on the cause rather than the spot. |
| Marine actives | Seaweed-derived extracts, including sea heather, used to restore moisture overnight. | Breakout-prone skin is usually dehydrated as well, and drying it further makes the oil worse. |
| Birch water | A tree sap used to calm the look of redness and irritation. | It is aimed at the redness that surrounds a breakout, which is often what people mind most. |

Common questions
It is formulated as the last step of a night routine, to sit undisturbed while you sleep. There is nothing harmful about it in the morning, it is built for the other job, and it carries no sunscreen. Use a daytime moisturiser and SPF in the morning.
Skin carries its own population of microbes, and a disrupted barrier disrupts them too. That shows up as congestion and breakouts. Bio-fermented actives are used to support both, which is a different route to the same problem than an acid takes.
Yes, apply the active first and let it absorb, then this on top. What we would not do is layer a second exfoliating product with it. If your skin is already peeling or stinging, use this alone for a fortnight and let it settle.
No. It helps the look of congestion and breakouts on skin that is otherwise well. Acne is a medical condition with medical treatments, and cycling through moisturisers while it spreads costs you time. If your breakouts are painful, widespread or scarring, come and see us.
