Blending five acids is not marketing. Each has a different molecule size, so they work at different depths and you get a broader result at a lower irritation cost than one acid at the same strength. Gluconic acid is the poly hydroxy in there and it holds water, which is why this stings less than a straight glycolic.

Key actives
| Active | What it does | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Mandelic and lactic acidsMandelic Acid, Lactic Acid | The two largest alpha hydroxy acids here, working nearer the surface and more slowly. | The large molecules are why this suits skin that reacts badly to glycolic. |
| Gluconic acidGluconic Acid | A poly hydroxy acid, larger again, which also holds water in the skin. | It is the reason a 10% acid blend feels comfortable rather than stripping. |
| Malic and tartaric acids with niacinamideMalic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Niacinamide | Two fruit acids that round out the blend, with niacinamide to support tone. | Niacinamide alongside acids is what keeps the skin looking calm rather than flushed. |

Common questions
Molecule size decides how far an acid travels. Five different sizes work at five different depths, so you get a broader result than a single acid at the same total strength, and usually less irritation with it. The poly hydroxy acid in the blend also holds water, which offsets the drying.
Start twice a week in the evening and build up from there. Nightly is possible for resilient skin and unnecessary for most. If your skin feels tight, looks shiny-red, or stings when you apply moisturiser, you have gone too far.
No, it stays on. Apply it after cleansing and let it dry before your serum. Because it stays on the skin, sunscreen the next morning is not optional.
Not on the same night while you are settling in. Alternate them. Once your skin has been comfortable on both for a couple of months, some people combine them, but there is rarely a good reason to.
