Patients ask me all the time what is worth buying for home use, and I am careful about what I recommend. I have used Dermalux in the clinic for years. This is the first at-home LED I have been happy to put my name to.
01 · Why we stock it
The same light, sized for home
We have run Dermalux LED at The London Road Clinic since 2023, on a Tri-Wave and a Flex, and we use them most days we are open. When Dermalux built a mask for home use, it mattered to us that it came from the people who made the units we already trust.
Dermalux builds for the treatment room. The systems clinics install are the business, and by their own account the mask is designed to the same engineering and safety standards as those professional devices. We treat on that platform, so the engineering is the part we can vouch for.
It is not a professional system and Dermalux does not claim it is. This is the at-home version of the red and near-infrared side of that treatment, built to hold your results between appointments rather than replace a course with a practitioner.

Held off the skin, not pressed against it
Most LED masks sit flat on the face, which means the light reaches the points it touches and misses the contours in between. Dermalux hold the array away from the skin so the light spreads before it lands, reaching the sides of the nose, the curve of the jaw and up into the hairline.

Three wavelengths, one treatment
633nm, red
Softens the look of fine lines, and evens tone and texture.
830nm, near-infrared
Supports the skin barrier and the appearance of firmness.
1072nm, deep near-infrared
Reaches deepest of the three. Brings back radiance in dull-looking skin.
04 · How to use
Ten minutes, once a day
There are no modes to choose and no settings to adjust. Three wavelengths run together in one ten-minute treatment, and the only control is a single button.
Cleanse
Start with clean, dry skin, free of makeup, SPF and skincare.
Massage
Work the skin gently for a minute or two before you begin.
Treat
One ten-minute session. Eyes closed, as you would in clinic.
Then your routine
Apply your serums and moisturiser after the session, not before.
Keep going
Daily use is what makes the difference. Consistency beats intensity.

What it does and does not emit
The mask emits red and near-infrared light only. There is no UV, and it does not get hot. Treatment is comfortable, and most people notice nothing beyond a gentle warmth.
Moulded eye guards are built into the mask. Keep your eyes closed during a session, as you would in clinic.
If you take any medication that makes your skin more sensitive to light, speak to your prescriber or to us before you start. The user guide supplied with the mask carries the full safety information and contraindications.

One ten-minute treatment a day. It is designed for daily use, and daily use is what makes the difference.
Comfortable. There is a gentle warmth and nothing else. It is not invasive and there is no downtime, so you can use it and carry on with your evening.
Most people notice their skin looking brighter within the first few weeks. Changes in tone and texture build gradually with consistent use. Results vary from person to person.
