The first two days after a treatment are the part we cannot supervise, and that is where most of the avoidable problems start. Not dramatic ones. Skin feels tight so it gets touched, or it looks shiny so something fragranced goes on it. What this does is give people something to use that will not interfere. It is not doing the work the treatment did. It keeps the surface clean while the skin settles.

Key actives
| Active | What it does | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Hypochlorous acidHypochlorous Acid | The molecule the product is built around. It cleans the skin surface and leaves nothing behind to wipe or rinse off. | It does the surface work without alcohol, fragrance, or an active that could clash with a treated face. |
| Phosphoric acidPhosphoric Acid | Holds the solution at the pH where hypochlorous acid stays hypochlorous acid. | pH is what separates a stable hypochlorous solution from one that has drifted, so it does more here than the name suggests. |

The chemistry is the same family. What varies between products is concentration, pH, stability and how much of that the maker publishes, and most publish very little. We have written separately about how to read a label in this category, because it is difficult and what a product costs tells you almost nothing.
No. It is a surface step rather than a wash, and it will not remove makeup, sunscreen or oil. It sits alongside your cleanser, not in place of it.
Through the recovery window and then stop. Most people use it frequently for the first 48 hours and taper over the following few days. Outside that window your ordinary routine is doing more for you.
Because it is chlorine chemistry. How strong the smell is varies with concentration and formulation, and it is not a measure of quality.
No. It sits alongside them. If anything on this page contradicts what you were told in the treatment room, do what you were told in the room.
