Five acids sounds like marketing until you read what they are. Salicylic gets inside the pore, mandelic is the large, slow one that suits skin that cannot take glycolic, and the azelaic and kojic are there for the marks left behind. It is a well-built formula, and two nights a week is where to start.

Key actives
| Active | What it does | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Salicylic acidSalicylic Acid | The beta hydroxy acid. Oil-soluble, so it works inside the pore rather than on top of it. | It is the one that addresses the congestion itself rather than the surface above it. |
| Mandelic acidMandelic Acid | A large-molecule alpha hydroxy acid that penetrates slowly and evenly. | Second on the list. Its size is the point: slower in means less sting than glycolic at the same strength. |
| Azelaic and kojic acidPotassium Azeloyl Diglycinate, Kojic Acid | Two actives aimed at the marks a spot leaves behind once it has cleared. | Clearing congestion and fading the marks it leaves are separate jobs, and most products only do the first. |

Common questions
Not at two to three nights a week, which is what it is designed for. The 10% is spread across five acids of different sizes and speeds rather than concentrated in one, and mandelic acid, the largest, is the biggest share.
Pick one per night. Both are exfoliating steps, and running them together is how people end up with a stripped barrier and more breakouts than they started with.
No artificial fragrance, but it carries tea tree and peppermint oils. Patch-test if you react to botanicals.
It helps with congestion and the marks spots leave behind. Persistent, painful or scarring acne is a medical matter and worth seeing your GP about. We would rather say that than sell you an exfoliant for it.
