Sun Protection

Of everything in a routine, daily sun protection is the step that changes the most over time and the one most often skipped between October and March. It also matters more than usual after any treatment that resurfaces the skin, because freshly treated skin is more vulnerable to light.

Sun Protection

Oil Free SPF 40+ is the straightforward sunscreen: no colour, no finish, worn under makeup or on its own. C-Shield Anti-Pollution Moisture Tint SPF30+ gives light coverage with hydration, which suits days when you want protection and evenness in one step. The Oil Free Tinted Primer runs across five shades and sits under makeup, and Luminous Liquid Foundation SPF18 carries protection into full coverage. Whether you take it in skincare or in makeup, the important part is that it goes on every morning.

Where to start

Pick the format you will put on every morning without thinking about it. A tinted primer worn daily protects you better than a high-factor sunscreen worn twice a week.

Sun protection, curated by the clinicians at The London Road Clinic in Newark, Nottinghamshire, covers sunscreen, tinted moisturiser, primer and foundation formats, so you can find a version you'll wear daily rather than one that sits unopened in a drawer.

Good to know

Frequently asked

Which SPF should I wear after a peel or resurfacing treatment?

A plain, comfortable sunscreen with no added actives, worn daily and reapplied if you're outdoors. Skin that has recently been resurfaced is more sensitive to light, and protecting it supports the result you paid for. Our aftercare guides cover this treatment by treatment.

Is the SPF in my foundation enough on its own?

Usually not, because few people apply foundation as thickly or as evenly as sunscreen is tested at. Treat SPF in makeup as a useful top-up over a dedicated sunscreen rather than a replacement for one.

Do I need SPF in winter or indoors?

Daily wear through the year is the habit worth building, and it matters most if you're using acids or retinol, or recovering from a treatment. UVA passes through window glass, so a seat by a window counts.
